Passarani’s records, in particular, were instrumental in bringing together the future Numbers co-founders. Richard had already booked him pre-Numbers; meanwhile Calum (Spencer) and Jack (Jackmaster), then 16/17 year olds working alternate Saturdays in Rubadub, were so enamoured with the Roman sound that they travelled to Rome for the Bitz Festival in 2003 to seek out Passarani and Lory D at their source.
The first Analog Fingerprints release landed as a 12” on Plasmek in 2001, following the fractured, IDM-leaning 6 Katun material. For Passarani, the project marked a recalibration. A DJ first and foremost, he had moved into production via early computer setups, from a Commodore Amiga through primitive PC audio, Cubase and Logic, later experimenting with Ableton. The IDM scene had offered a playground for trial and error, but there was always a tension between abstraction and the dancefloor. Analog Fingerprints became the bridge: still intelligent, but with more dance than distance. After years of broken beats and complex arrangements, he wanted directness without surrendering identity.
Working closely with Francesco de Bellis and Mario Pierro in the Pigneto district, the trio formed Pigna as a vehicle for reclaiming a more accessible dance sound, deliberately steering away from the minimal wave beginning to dominate Europe. Sessions were fast, instinctive, often stretching late into the night with friends dropping by. It was a studio as social space, production as collective energy.
“In that constant search for balance, Analog Fingerprints was my way of expressing something closer to the classic dance floor. The track ‘Tribute’ – a tribute to my favourite early Detroit techno track of all time, ‘First Bass’ by Separate Minds – came after I realised I had almost lost my connection with the dance floor. The simplest step was to take inspiration from early Chicago and Detroit and twist it in our Roman ‘Pigna’ way. My goal was to create more accessible dancefloor tracks by mixing my unconscious Italo roots with my teenage love for that early US sound, ensuring the result was as far as possible from the minimal sound that was starting to dominate everywhere.” – Marco Passarani
Technically, the Analog Fingerprints tracks span a transitional era: Roland TR-909, SH-101 and Alpha Juno hardware met early software experiments. A Novation Drumstation rack stood in for the unattainable TR-808, syncing with TB-303 and TR-606. Yet the true secret weapon was Jeskola Buzz, a tracker-style modular environment that allowed step-by-step parameter control and strange melodic constructions, later exported into the audio sequencer. Even the lead on ‘Tribute’ came from an early PPG Wave-style plugin. It was hybrid thinking at a moment when digital tools still felt unstable but full of possibility for technologists like Passarani.
Behind the music sat Finalfrontier, a loose Roman collective orbiting Nature and Plasmek. Distribution and production were intertwined; importing obscure records into Italy built connections with like-minded outsiders across Europe and the US. Expensive phone bills and fax machines forged an “electronix network” that linked Rome to Clone, Viewlexx, Skam, Rephlex, Rubadub and Detroit’s Underground Resistance. There was a shared sense of survival and resistance, of operating against commercial systems.
Passarani recalls “The first time I found a sheet of paper inside an Underground Resistance 12” with info about upcoming releases… and a huge picture of Spock on the back. Imagine that: you love the music, you love Star Trek, and there’s someone on the other side of the ocean sharing those same values and sounds. It was the perfect match. We even gave our original company the suffix ‘Finalfrontier’: that says it all.”
Feedback in that era arrived physically: distributor faxes, conversations with visiting DJs, the experience of playing abroad and meeting kids who had connected with the records. Glasgow became a key node in a scattered outlier network. Passarani personally brought the first two Nature releases to Fat Cat in London, playing them in-store. Shortly after, a fax arrived from Rubadub in Glasgow requesting copies.
“I still remember that phone buzz and the fax paper slowly sliding out, with someone I didn’t know saying they wanted 75 copies of Nature 001. Or like the time we got a fax from the Rephlex crew just saying, “Hello Nature Records, Keep up the good work.” That was how we knew the message was getting through. It was a fantastic feeling; just one piece of thermal fax paper as an analog notification – the mood for the entire week would change.” – Passarani
The connection to Glasgow has since stretched across generations. As Passarani reflects, links often fracture as scenes renew themselves, but in Glasgow something different happened. New and old mixed seamlessly. There was a visible trust in what came before, and a willingness to carry it forward rather than discard it. Observed from Rome, it was deeply encouraging.
Analog Fingerprints Vol. 0 captures that moment of exchange: Rome to Glasgow, Detroit to Europe, experiment to dancefloor. It documents an artist recalibrating his sound and a network of scenes discovering one another in real time, connected by vinyl, faxes and shared intent.

The scenery changes, but the story stays the same: broken dreams on arid ground.
Linking back to his early Nature Records releases, Passarani blends experimentation with an unshakable sense of groove, weaving a more abstract narrative without losing the dancefloor pulse. While distinct from his Studiomaster output, the project shares the same DNA, fusing digital and analog textures until the boundaries dissolve.
True to the raw spirit of pure techno and imbued with the unmistakable nuances of the Roman school, F.F.O.M. is both a nod to the past and a step into uncharted territory, where Martian dust meets earthly sweat.
Each track paints a fragment of this imagined frontier: Tales Of Truth reveals shadowy landscapes hiding the real nature of the so-called new promised land; Alone in the Depth drifts through liquid scenery, a classic TR-808 pulsing deep beneath unknown oceans; Clouded Shore distills the numeric essence of groove in a subtle nod to Kraftwerk; Dominion erupts into the fierce struggle for supremacy over the new territories; Passione Orbitale tells of love for the unknown and voyages toward otherworldly sunsets; Exploration Noises echoes the spirit of Ixora from Passarani’s first Nature Records release, with manic, melancholic SH-101 lines riding electro rhythms.
The digital edition includes two exclusive miniatures, fleeting transmissions from the edge of this Martian settlement.

Roma techno legend Marco Passarani dusts off his Studiomaster moniker to present a selection of vibey dancefloor burners on 12” vinyl brimming with energy and packed with 303 squelch, thumping drums, moody synths and perfectly-placed vocal cuts.
Marco took the Studiomaster name from his Studiomaster P7 console, which he runs his in-the-box mixes through, to bring extra dirt and character to his tracks. The Studiomaster alias first appeared on the Passarani Bandcamp page just as summer began in 2023. The newly built B.K.S. studio space was running smoothly, and the machines have been buzzing ever since, as Marco fires off vital, futuristic, acid-drenched club tracks, under pseudonyms like Passarani 2099, Analog Fingerprints, and Kids of Rotten Future. In contrast to an internet full of streaming files and AI generated artworks, the Studiomaster brand brings the look and feel of rare 12” white label promos, minimal on design and information.
The tracks here are collected on vinyl for the first time, “They represent proper studio jam sessions,” says Marco “meant to be performed in the club. There are no songs here, just pure dance floor tools!” And it’s to those in the club that this release is dedicated: to those still dreaming about the future while dancing in the dark.

When it rains, it pours! Which is a good thing, if the soil is dry. The second return of Tiger & Woods in almost no time falls on fertile ground. After DJs on Film has been eagerly embraced, they keep the ingredients, but change the dishes. Consummate and catchy, sweeping and simple DJ music with a penchant for hooks and hits.
Silly Little Games (also featuring long-time collaborator ’EM) evokes the rescue of an unreleased Editainment reel with a hidden new beat feel. Wild Stream is the sort of shattered mirror ball that came out of Shake Shakiest studio and Claude Young would have needed two copies off, while Fake U and Do It to Me are eternal classics Again: No samples were harmed during the filming of this record!

La Rama is back on wax with two original compositions from local producer/DJ Rig Thrall. We first linked up with the Rakya crew member at the shop and soon after released his music on a limited run 10” named ‘Exit 19’ via our La Rama Dubs sub label. We kept in touch, and when an assortment of unreleased material caught our ears, we quickly jumped on the opportunity to get working on this 4th record on our label.
‘Broken Guru’ drones and grooves you through the cavernous depths, out in to the open, where the clouds part and a voice reaffirms that you are on the right path. From here we dive back into the depths, with the full confidence that this is the right path.
Thanks to two Roman legends, we have variations on the theme of ‘Broken Guru’. Marco Passarani delivers the masterful hyper dance floor club dub with his many years of experience clearly on display… play it out and you will see that this is some kind of sorcery. In speaking of magic, we are honoured to have the one and only Lory D serve us up a bass heavy re-interpretation, recorded in one pass through his live rig and edited to perfection.
‘Acidly Dose’ is the second original from Rig Thrall, an acid infused beat of the highest order with all the necessary elements to give the room a communal high.

Continuum on Rough Radio
Continuum is Marco Passarani’s monthly residency on Rough Radio, a show where the nuances of electronic dance fuse seamlessly, much like the ever-shifting folds of time. Dynamic perceptions and intense movements intersect in the continuum, breaking the boundaries of space and time. A dimensional groove in constant evolution.
The Bandcamp drop became quite an appointment; every month, once or twice, you would see new music popping up on Marco’s Bandcamp page. It was an experiment at first, and now it has become quite a pleasant routine. The page is filled with exclusive tunes, making the browsing experience an adventure through never-heard beats, cooked and ready to fly to your pendrive!

Sometimes you go to take a step back to go forward. What sounds like a Ferris Bueller quote and can be as easily applied as a seatbelt, also holds true for the long over-due and outright return of Tiger & Woods. Four tracks that are as classic as they are catchy and as simple as the monochrome label that carries their titles. Drawing conclusions from an extended period as a DJ team and before going back to their esteemed and critically acclaimed live set, it’s all made for dance floors and with their conductors in mind. If you are reading this page probably you know who I am, what I’ve been doing and where I am from. Probably you have heard or even visited one of the many spots where I had set my roots to search for that perfect beat. When I look back, there are so many feelings with the locations one’s occupied in a lifetime, but clearly my mind goes to that incredible place in Pigneto where I spent twelve incredibile years of my life together with Francesco De Bellis, Mario Pierro and then Valerio Delphi, Raffaele Martirani, Lorenzo Ceccotti etc to name a few.
See, my generation (proudly X) has always looked for a space where you could make music and share your ideas with other people, and possibly have a space where no one would interfere and where you could be loud twentyfour hours a day. A place where your existence would melt with your own creativity, where you could express yourself without any limitations. Pigneto studio was one of those places. Surrounded by a vibrant and changing Roman district about to blow up, we have created endless ideas and established an impossible number of connections, when the internet was only starting to take over the society.
Things changed and so we had to move on when the Pigneto district became extremely popular and commercial and we all went separate ways, still managing to keep the family vibe alive somehow. But it has been different. New spaces, new distances and then the internet communication / social / collaborative network. Can’t complain, things still worked but somehow something has been missing. This feeling of “everything possible due to the network” never really filled the gap of the human interaction that only a physical place could give. So, I never stopped dreaming about a hub, a spaceship where things can happen physically. It would take an entire book to tell how we got here, especially since this happened thru the abrupt interruption of our life called “pandemic”, but fuck yeah it’s 2023 and I’m writing from a new space called B.K.S. (Best Kept Secret) which is officially the new and definitive space where the creativity will have his physical home, and where the dream of a collective creative experience is still possible. Me and Valerio Delphi found ourselves in a position to jump into this crazy adventure and we took the opportunity because we personally know what’s the meaning of sitting together somewhere, without interferences, and let the creativity chase a journey. We were barely unknown to each others when the Pigneto rooms gave us the opportunity to write down the first Tiger & Woods sketches.
What’s gonna happen here we don’t know, but we know that we have the space, we have the gears, we have the ideas. It could be a record, it could be a dj mix, it could be a dinner … we’re here and hope to involve more and more people in a studio experience journey with us.

In a true celebration of Italian electronic music from across the generations, Bosconi is honoured to present unreleased works from the legendary Alexander Robotnick. A true titan of Florentine music who helped define the Italo disco scene with a glittering run of evergreen club classics, Robotnick is still as creative now in his 70s as he was when first firing off his trademark arpeggios in the early 1980s.
For a few years now Robotnick, real name Maurizio Dami, has mainly released new or previously unreleased music via his own Hot Elephant Music. As such, we’re thrilled to present three original tracks on vinyl, cut hot and ready to set a disco alight. Transcending the trappings of retro-fetishism, vintage this or old-skool that, the tracks on this 12″ could be called techno or electro as easily as Italo – it’s quite simply impeccable dance music as delivered by a master craftsman.
Adding to the sense of occasion celebrating the foundations of the Italian scene, we’re equally thrilled to welcome Marco Passarani to remix Robotnick’s ‘The Hidden Game’. His appropriately titled ‘Legacy’ mix operates as an alternate version in the traditional style, holding true to the essence of the original while offering a slightly altered perspective. It’s a distinct mix with Passarani’s own distinctive Italo flair plain to hear – if anything his version sounds more retro than the original – but it’s still very much invested in what Robotnick created to begin with.
Given the influence both these artists have had on the musical culture our own label is built on, this release holds a special place in our hearts, and we’re excited to be sharing it with the world, where the throbbing basslines and sparkling pads can work their magic under the disco ball in a thousand dimly lit dance spots.

Latest mixes
Swiss brand Schertler started a community, in partnership with KCLF Studio, with the intention of connecting many valuable artists of the electronic music scene from all over the world through the use of Schertler products.
The sample packs proposed are original and created by each artist specifically for this project. Marco focused on his classic Roland SH101 and Korg MS-20 creating 2 drum kits the same way he used to do back in the days, reviving the tradition with the help of the Schertler mixer Arthur F48.

It might come as a surprise, but the „Boot and Heel EP“ might be the first Tiger & Woods product that could be called unashamedly Italo disco. Think Den Harrow and old school CBS radio programming rather than the Italian boogie side of things that used to be the prevalent influence in the Roman’s studio work. Unshrouded in mystery: what once started as an anonymous underground project with stamped white labels and a clever take on sampling, has since then unfolded to be one of the longest-running and most successful teams in current dance music. Nurtured by the sounds of the past and blessed with the techniques of today, the music of Tiger & Woods always kept evolving in and around the tropes of disco, house and boogie. Classic dance music, if you will.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary this year, Marco Passarani and Valerio Delphi managed to arrive at album number three. “A.O.D.” is a pun on A.O.R. (adult oriented rock) and a play on their own sound. Defying the restricting rules electronic music record shop crates, it’s a departure and an arrival at the same time. Inspired by the faded buildings and images of discotheques on the Italian countryside, the romantic start and bittersweet endings of summer, beach life and the excitement of travelling through the landscape to get to aforementioned temples of dance and subsequently the morning after.
Except for the 100% sample-free “1:00 am”, everything on “A.O.D.” is based on a quiver of cleared samples from the Roman institution that is Claudio Donato and his Full Time and Goodymusic emporium. In Tiger & Woods hometown Rome, the often very electronic and futuristic sound of Italo Disco had a different twist. Much more boogie-based and influenced by the song-writing styles of New York City’s dance scene, it played in a league of its own. Tiger & Woods use these materials to take them apart, out of context and into contrasting areas. Moulding something completely new, one gets fooled to recognise Sade songs that aren’t, pop music instrumentals and a reprise of memories that never existed. A ride through one’s brain in a convertible with an Italian FM radio station playing in the background. Or to use less stiff poetry: a chill out album you can dance to or a dance album you can chill out to. Adult Oriented Dance.

Offen is proud to announce the long awaited new solo release by one of Italy’s most visionary producers, Marco Passarani. WOW encompasses eight tracks that vary in texture, with nods to proto-house, dystopic electronica, classic Detroit techno and Library records alike. Opening with the panoramic spacescape of “Coldrain,” buoyed by a supple bassline, the future-nostalgic “Cydonia Rocks,” with its washes of sound, gives way to “Drumy Dream,” a robotic techno lovesong. “Get Down” follows, its insistent rhythm and TB-303 refrain punctuated with jagged vocoder stabs. The anthemic and agile “Innowave” stretches out, making way for “Minerals,” its bubbling rhythm drenched in a dreamy and disconnected optimism. “Talk to Me” and “Strings Fair” bring the record to its emotional apex, with murky, energetic basslines building a scaffolding for sparkling cascades of melody. The record is the Roman producer’s first solo LP in 14 years. Lately, he says he felt he an impetus to enter into the more intimate side of his creativity, which was central to his early work. Examining his approach to composition and experimentation, Passarani, whose studio boasts an enviable array of analog synths, streamlined his working process, creating a flexible system that enabled him to utilize brief moments in between shows as well as in alternative spaces: A reduced setup that he could take everywhere, and which could also work as the core layout for his live performances. And that, he says, is how he started writing down sketches, one after the other. WOW wasn’t exactly planned. He says, “I was trying to bring order to my creativity, going through the pieces of the puzzle that I’ve been lost in. Before, I could concentrate on some areas of the puzzle, while now I can see the final picture when I look at all those pieces. And this is what happened, especially when I listen to the songs now than can tell my story but also show future paths. WOW is like my zen garden of ideas: Probably not definitive, and it will never be, ‘cause time will bring changes. But my new garden is finally ready to accept those and change with them.”

The Tiger is back – finally on full length again! The second studio album for Tiger & Woods not only marks a desired return to a specific format, but is also a huge leap forward in their area of expertise: their brand of fun and functional dance music gets broadened by influences from electronica, italo disco and up-tempo house, while keeping a groove that is distinctly linked to what some people refer to as boogie.
After travelling the world from left to right and from top to bottom with a live-set to boot and skilful DJ sets that resemble that genre melting approach, “On The Green Again” is the result of spending valuable studio time at the “Tiger’s Lair” – a carefully-built new work place that plays its own part in the creative process of one of the most prolific production teams of our days, while simultaneously starting T&W Records for all sorts of adventures that are linked to Tiger & Woods, but not narrowed to a specific sound. See “Unleashed Tapes Vol. 1” for further reference. A double A-sided 12-inch that owes as much to disco as an influence as it pays homage to the funkier and brighter sides of house and techno.
Honing a craft that is rooted in edit culture as an ethos, but has since long left that bumpy road dependable on samples and their clearance, T&W make “On The Green Again” work as the second album that defies the difficulty usually attached to such ventures.
10 brand-new tracks (and three previously released bonus tracks on the CD version) make up the course between peak-time prime cuts similar to “RockMeLoveMe” or “Come And Get My Lovin” and an almost heart-aching track like “Endless Affair”.
Mixed with bits and pieces in-between and neatly placed between a classic intro and outro segment, those tracks are testament to that aforementioned wider scope.
To put it in a nutshell, “On The Green Again” is not concerned with leaving a comfort zone, but with making you comfortable no matter which zone you are in.
The only mystery that is left now, is how long we have to wait for the third one.

Dexter and Marco Passarani team up for one of the hottest releases on Nature. Kind of Dexter meets Passarani, actually. Chicago and Detroit influenced trademark tracks of Passarani mixed with the razor sharp beats and phat basslines of Dexter. The original version is probably the most advanced mix with its sharp beats and funky bass lines. The Dexter mix is kind of minimal techno-ish funk or something, and the Passarani mix is an excellent rocking Chicago-influenced house/techno track. Marco Passarani’s musical journey began in the early nineties when he was involved in the burgeoning Roman techno radio scene. Around this time, he began participating in many warehouse parties and events performing both live and as a DJ. From these humble beginnings, Marco has steadily built a successful career as a pioneer and torch-bearer for the Italian electronic dance music scene, being recognised and respected as such both at home and internationally. Marco has always taken a very central, varied approach to music. Not only has he released an abundance of well-regarded singles and remixes on a host of international imprints, he has also established and run the labels Nature, Plasmek and Pigna, acting more as the producer behind such bands as Jolly Music, J’s Pool, Monomorph and Ambit 3. Sullen Look, Marco’s debut on Peacefrog infuses a wide range of influences, from early Detroit and electro to hip hop and funk, whilst holding onto an eclectic style that is all Marco’s very own. Full of acid tinged breaks, spliced beats, and melancholy melodies, Sullen Look is a timeless album that manages to conjure up the bygone days of electronica whilst still appealing to the modern dance buyer’s electro tinged sensibilities.
